Client: Bristol Medical Simulation Centre
Objectives: To design and install
an operating theatre/TV studio, control room and conference
training room. To 'make the £1 million dummy talk!'
Outcome: The new centre is the first
training faciltiy to give the delegates the opportunity
to respond to a wide range of medical scenarios. Central
to the faciltiy a new advanced Human Patient Simulator,
a mannequin, which poses as a human on the operating
table and simulates a wide variety of situations during
operations. It can even 'wake up' and 'talk' to the
medical team or respond to questions asked by the trainee.
The voice of the HPS, communicated through a small speaker
cunningly concealed in the head, comes from an actor
in the nearby control. EAV's engineers are on hand to
give technical support and ensure the smooth running
of future operations!
